De-mystifying research so that everyone can
fully contribute
Research can seem like something other people do. In fact, in order for research to be rigorous, innovative, and change things, it has to include a wide spectrum of people with different kinds of expertise and experience. If this is not the case, then research can become a vicious circle, with the same people doing the same things and not really moving knowledge or practice on.

VIRTUOUS CIRCLES is an initiative which encourages people who do not usually get involved in research to take part.

We plan and carry out each part of the research process together, so that we have maximum chance of influencing things for good.

We welcome people with no research experience. We will be very grateful for your input.

If you would like to join us to do some exciting research, please get in touch.

We would love to hear from you.

The VIRTUOUS CIRCLES research cycle
We use a simple research cycle which is adaptable to most projects.

Look
carefully and thoughtfully at an issue and how it affects people; look at what other people have said and done about it

Learn
about the issue by gathering, analysing and interpreting information about it

Innovate
by using what you learn in a new way to change how people think, what they know and what they do

Improve
things for the people at the centre of your research - check that the new way of thinking, knowing and doing is beneficial for them.
